Teach Them Young

Here teaching is very different when compared to India. Pinkuda doesn’t has anything to do at home after coming from school. She is told by her teacher to choose a book from the school library every week and she has only that book to read at home. She is 5 years and yet to know words. When she was in India she used to bring loads of home work of  two and three letter words. Here they are still in teaching letters. School doesn’t want to put pressure on kids and they leave the kids to take their own time to learn and memorize the things. This post is about a issue which is mostly written and spoken in India and was shown in Amir Khan’s Satyamava Jayathe, it is about Bad and Good Touch.

Pinkuda had a class about good and bad touch. She came home and told me that her sir said KEEP YOUR HANDS FOR YOURSELF, don’t touch others. This sentence is for those who un-necessarily touch others and for those who are the victim of those touches. I felt they are teaching both the victims and culprits that it’s not OK to touch. My mom used to say the things learnt at the younger age is hard to forget like the saying “Old habits die hard”. So if we teach our kids not to touch others at the young age and they will practice the same thing when they grow old.

Our First Winter here…

Winter is slowly setting in. The temperature now is 0 degrees Celsius and we are not used to these kind of weather,the winter maximum we have in Hyderabad is around 15 degrees Celsius.Today morning when we ventured out we were surprised to see snow on the roads.Kids had a good time on their way to school.The snow was not that much and by afternoon all snow melted and roads were clear.Here weather is so un-predictable and your are caught unaware if you think it is sunny and you end up shivering.So it is always better to go fully dressed.

Pink just hates to get dressed up that too with 3-4 t-shirts,2 pants,heavy winter jacket and snow boots.Varu is quite comfortable with the dressing and she is loving it.

Inside the house we don’t  feel the cold,it is quite similar to Dubai where it is not hot indoors.There are A/C’s ,here heaters.But heaters too has dis-advantages as they make skin very dry.So tons and tons of body lotion are rubbed on the bodies.

Good it happened…..

Last two years were tough.Good it happened it made me a better person and it made me strong to cope with the situations.I pray i won’t get to see those years again.Was stressed out too much.

Much was spent in a hope that husband will get a job he was desiring in hyderabad but we were wrong in that.He didn’t get proper opening and he got a better job in Dubai.We gave 2 years time for ourselves and now that company doesn’t want him to leave them.

But some where a decision has to be taken and we are here.A new chapter in our life and as people here say kids will just love this place and will get adjusted soon.

Living alone was only possible with my mom and my immediate family support.  And i thank them all for the emotional and mental support.I should not miss thanking my house help and my building watchmen.They both were very helpful. Any time of the day they answered my call,be it getting medicine from pharmacy, accompanying me at night,looking after the kids when i am went out or getting me a pizza etc……Now they both are helping my mother the way they did for me.

During those two years my best companion were my kids off course husband used to call everyday. Pinkuda missed her bad so badly that in the middle of night she used to search for him on the bed.And when he was with us she never used to take him out of her sight.He used to give her bath,feed her,take her to school,change her dress etc…….But when he left us she used to be depressed and used to behave very strangely.Now everything has come to an end and she is very happy to be with her dad.Now she ignores him a lot cause she nows he won’t leave us and go to Dubai.I should say sorry to kids for going through all this.

Those two years people have written me off,my financial status was questioned but i never answered them because i knew all this were temporary and i always believe in Sunshine after Dark.
